Elgin 16S 15J lever set (LS) adj. grade 3 pocket watch #3917797, handsome gilt split plate movement with a fancy plate layout, screw-down jewel settings, an engraved balance bridge and a matte finish, mint single sunk (SS) porcelain enamel dial with Roman numerals and a black-marked subsidiary seconds register, blue steel spade style hands, lovely yellow gold filled (YGF) fully engraved hunting case (HC) with a design on both covers of a heavy border square supporting a ribbon and surrounded by large floral designs, on one side the square is a blank monogram shield and on the reverse is an engraving of a building on a forested hill, vermicelli engraved bezels and frame, inner coin edge bezel around the plastic crystal and a heavy bow, case is showing normal even wear overall with some notable smoothing to the engraving in places along with some thin lines and spots of brass starting to show on the bezels, frame and pendant, measures approx. 52mm diameter x 72mm in length x 15mm thick. A very attractive vintage Elgin from the 1890s in excellent overall condition, perfect for both everyday and dress use!
