Illinois 16S 17J Illinois Central grade 304 pocket watch #3083643, impressive nickel 2-tone bridge movement with a gold train & center wheel, screw-down jewel settings and an elaborate wavy line and sunburst damascene pattern that has gold flashing accenting the pattern and in some of the bridge recesses, double sunk (DS) porcelain enamel dial with bold fancy Arabic style numbers and a black marked subsidiary seconds register is marked "Illinois Central", dial does have some faint hairlines, blue steel spade & whip style hands, heavy yellow gold filled (YGF) fully engraved hunting case (HC) with a distinctive design on both sides of checkerboard engine turning around a smooth polish arc on the upper half and large floral and geometric designs on the lower half surrounding a fancy monogram shield, shield on one side is blank and the reverse is engraved with a small sailboat; coin edge bezels and a heavy bow, case is showing light normal wear with a bit of light scuffing on the covers, a little smoothing in places near the edges on the engraving, a small patch of scratches on the frame near the hinges and a bit of brass starting to show on the bow, measures approx. 51mm in diameter x 70mm in length x 13mm thick. A very attractive, high quality vintage Illinois from the early 1900s in excellent+ overall condition!
