Elgin 16S 21J lever set (LS) adj. 5p Father Time grade 454 pocket watch #23214191, beautiful nickel split plate movement with screw-down gold jewel settings (GJS), a gold center wheel and a fancy concentric circle damascene pattern, double sunk (DS) porcelain enamel dial with bold fancy Arabic style numbers and a black-marked subsidiary seconds register has some faint hairlines and a small expert repair at the edge near 7 o'clock, heavy blue steel spade & whip style hands.
Re-cased into an impressive yellow gold filled (YGF) screw back & bezel (SB&B) case with an elaborately engraved pattern on the back of narrow vertical line strips around a fancy blank tall rectangular monogram shield on the upper half, all surrounded by a ring of floral & geometric designs and finished with engine turning to the concave edge of the bezel, deep floral engraving on the bezels, a stylized floral chevron engraving on the frame, a short heavy pendant with a recessed crown, fancy squared bow and a glass crystal, case is showing normal light wear overall with some light smoothing and scuffing on the back cover however no brass or notable damage, measures approx. 51mm in diameter x 65mm in length x 13mm thick (crystal included). A very attractive, high grade Elgin railroad grade watch from the 1920s in excellent overall condition!
