Waltham 16S 17J adj. 3p grade No. 1617 pocket watch #X31863333, impressive nickel bridge movement with bold red ruby jewels and a brushed finish, single sunk (SS) porcelain enamel Montgomery-style dial with boxcar style Arabic numbers outlined in black with a tan luminous material filler, red Arabic minute markers and a black-marked subsidiary seconds register is marked "Waltham 17 Jewels", dial does have some faint hairlines, blue steel skeletonized spade & whip style hands with tan luminous material inserts, the luminous material no longer retains its light emitting properties on both the dial & hands, heavy white base metal (WBM) chrome screw back & bezel (SB&B) smooth polish case with coin edge bezels, a heavy short pendant with a recessed crown and a fancy heavy bow is marked on the back "Ord. Dept. U.S.A. 0B-26790", case also has an inner friction-fit dust cover, case is showing normal moderate wear with some smoothing to the back markings along with numerous scuffs, shallow scratches and spots of discoloration, measures approx. 51mm in diameter x 64mm in length x 15mm thick (crystal included). A heavy & impressive WWII-era watch with a 1944 production date, well worn but running strong, in very good overall condition!
