Elgin 18S 17J lever set (LS) adj. B.W. Raymond grade 27 pocket watch #6146435, handsome nickel full plate movement with screw-down jewel settings and a very elaborate concentric circle damascene pattern, double sunk (DS) porcelain enamel dial with Roman numerals, red 5 minute Arabic markers and a black-marked subsidiary seconds register has some very faint hairlines just starting near the dial edge, fancy blue steel Fleur de Lis style hands, re-cased into a heavy fully engraved yellow gold filled (YGF) hunting case (HC) with floral & geometric engraving around the fancy monogram shields on both sides, one monogram shield has the monogram "B" while the reverse has been engraved with a large building on a hill, coin edge engraved details on the stepped frame, a heavy bow and an inscription on the dust cover "J.D. Black Marietta Okla", case is showing normal moderate wear with notable smoothing to the engraving on both covers, some scuffing on the dust cover, a few small nicks and a few lines of brass on the frame, bezels & pendant, measures approx. 55mm in diameter x 77mm in length x 19mm thick. A high quality and attractive Elgin from the 1890s that was considered to be a railroad grade at the time of production in excellent overall condition!
