Waltham 18S 17J lever set (LS) adj. grade No. 85 pocket watch #12006805, handsome gilt full plate movement with a brushed finish, screw-down jewel settings and an engraved balance bridge, it does appear that one of the jewels has been replaced with a more modern bold red ruby jewel which does not affect the running condition but is a cosmetic anomaly, single sunk (SS) porcelain enamel dial with Roman numerals, red Arabic 5 minute markers and a black-marked subsidiary seconds register has a few faint hairlines and a small chip at the edge of the dial at 6 o'clock, blue steel spade style hands, heavy yellow gold filled (YGF) hunting case (HC) with an elaborate design of geometric patterns, the upper & lower filled with vermicelli engraving, surrounding tall oval monogram shields on both covers, one side has a blank diamond shield centered within the oval while the reverse side has a house on a lake or beach engraved in the shield, fancy angled engraved design on the frame and a heavy bow, case is showing normal wear with some notable smoothing to the engraving and some thin lines of brass on the bezels & bow, measures approx. 56mm in diameter x 75mm in length x 18mm thick. An attractive, high quality vintage Waltham from the early 1900s in excellent overall condition!
