Elgin 16S 19J lever set (LS) adj. 5p B.W. Raymond grade 371 pocket watch #17133199, beautiful nickel split plate movement with screw-down raised gold jewel settings (GJS), a gold center wheel and an elaborate concentric circle damascene pattern, the time setting lever on this model is at 2 o'clock, mint single sunk (SS) porcelain enamel dial with boxcar style Arabic numbers and a black-marked subsidiary seconds register, blue steel spade style hands, re-cased into an attractive yellow gold filled (YGF) hunting case (HC) that has been engraved on both sides with an elaborate design of art nouveau-styled swirls and curves that have been filled in with vermicelli engraving and create a fancy blank monogram shield in the center of the design, below the engraving is engine turning to the edge and along the top are large flowers, a beaded accent on the frame, a heavy bow and a glass crystal, case is showing normal wear with a bit of smoothing to some of the engraving, some brass on the bow, some discoloration on the dust cover and a few spots of scratching on the covers, frame & dust cover from rough attempts to open the case with a knife, measures approx. 52mm in diameter x 70mm in length x 14mm thick. A very high grade, attractive Elgin from the early 1900s in excellent+ overall condition!
