Illinois 18S 11J key wind Columbia pocket watch #420964, handsome gilt full plate movement with a brushed finish and a floral engraved balance bridge, unmarked porcelain enamel dial with Roman numerals and a black-marked subsidiary seconds register has some faint hairlines, fancy purple steel spade & whip style hands, heavy smooth polish white base metal (WBM) hinge back & bezel (HB&B) case with offset gold hinges, a large heavy bow and an extra thick glass crystal, case has likely only held this watch however the material & style are inconsistent with the manufacture date and it is likely a replacement, case is showing light even wear with a few small spots of discoloration, some brass showing on one of the hinges and a small set of flakes on the crystal's lower edge near the front case lip, measures approx. 57mm in diameter x 82mm in length x 23mm thick (crystal included). A heavy & impressive vintage Illinois from the 1880s in excellent overall condition!
