Elgin 18S 19J lever set (LS) adj. 5p B.W. Raymond grade 240 pocket watch #11927698, beautiful nickel split plate movement with screw-down raised gold jewel settings (GJS), a diamond endstone on the balance bridge and an elaborate concentric circle damascene pattern, double sunk (DS) porcelain enamel dial with fancy Arabic numbers, red 5 minute Arabic markers and a black-marked subsidiary seconds register has some shallow superficial scratches across the surface however no hairlines, blue steel spade-style hands.
Yellow gold filled (YGF) smooth polish swing out case (SRC) with large elaborate floral engraving around a fancy center monogram shield, shield has a monogram, possibly "HC", a heavy bow and a thick glass crystal, case is showing normal wear with some notable smoothing to the engraving, some spots of brass on the frame, pendant, crown & bow and a few small but shallow nicks on the frame & crystal, we can replace the crystal with a new plastic one at no charge on request, while there are no additional screw marks on the case, it is likely a replacement to the original, measures approx. 55mm in diameter x 76mm in length x 18mm thick (crystal included). An impressive, high quality Elgin railroad grade watch, with some of the most attractive movement finishing options that Elgin offered in the early 1900s, in excellent overall condition!
