Hamilton 16S 21J lever set (LS) adj. 6p grade 992B pocket watch #C111018, handsome nickel split plate movement with gold jewel settings (GJS), bold red ruby jewels, a gold center wheel and a bar style damascene pattern, single sunk (SS) hard enamel off-white dial with bold black boxcar style numbers and a black-marked subsidiary seconds register is marked "Hamilton Railway Special", dial has significant crazing (cracks) but is all complete, bold blue steel spade & whip style hands.
Attractive yellow gold filled (YGF) screw back & bezel (SB&B) Hamilton Model 2 case by Wadsworth with a smooth polish finish, half circle engraved pattern on the bezels, heavy sculpted shoulders with a Greek key engraved pattern and a fancy engraved bow supporting a bar-over-crown detail, case is showing moderate wear with notable smoothing to the engravings, the case may have been expertly gold plated as with this amount of wear some brass would be expected however we are not seeing any spots of brass except on the interior of the bow, measures approx. 50mm in diameter x 61mm in length x 15mm thick (crystal included). A high quality vintage Hamilton railroad grade watch from the 1940s that is still running strong but with some cosmetic issues that would make it a perfect watch to carry daily in good overall condition!
