Waltham 16S 23J lever set (LS) adj. 6p Vanguard Up & Down indicator pocket watch #26128983, beautiful nickel bridge layout movement with screw-down raised gold jewel settings (GJS), a gold center wheel, a diamond endstone on the balance bridge and an elaborate checkerboard damascene pattern with a wavy line concentric circle border, the time set lever on this model is at 11 o'clock, double sunk (DS) porcelain enamel dial with fancy Arabic numbers, black minute markers, a subsidiary power indicator register at 12 o'clock and a black-marked subsidiary seconds register at 6 o'clock, the dial has a few pinhead-sized factory defect blemishes and a faint hairline from the seconds bit to the edge of the dial at 6 o'clock, bold blue steel spade & whip style hands.
Handsome white gold filled (WGF) smooth polish Waltham Model 7G screw back & bezel (SB&B) case with a large fancy monogram on the back, possibly "GP", deeply engraved stylized comets or fancy half circles on the bezels, geometric-design heavy short shoulders with a recessed crown and a fancy bow with engraving matching the bezels; the engravings on the bezels, shoulder & bow have all been accented with inky black enamel, case is showing normal moderate wear with some smoothing to the engraving on the bezels & bow along with brass showing on the bezels, pendant & bow, the bow has also lost much of the enamel from wear, measures approx. 51mm in diameter x 63mm in length x 14mm thick (crystal included). A very high quality vintage railroad grade triple signed Waltham with the desirable Up & Down wind indicator function from the 1920s in excellent overall condition!
