Waltham 16S 17J adj. grade No. 630 pocket watch #17037854, lovely nickel bridge layout movement with screw-down jewel settings, a gold star regulator and an elaborate checkerboard damascene pattern with a wavy line concentric circle border, mint double sunk (DS) porcelain enamel dial with fancy Arabic numbers, red Arabic 5 minute markers and a black-marked subsidiary seconds register, blue steel spade style hands.
Impressive fully engraved yellow gold filled (YGF) hunting case (HC) with an elaborate art nouveau style design on both covers of flowing swirls, leaves and flowers with the spaces between accented with crisp engine turning or vermicelli engraving, one side has a large fancy blank monogram shield in the center while the reverse has an engraved design of forested hills along a lake or winding river, sculpted pendant, heavy French style bow and a glass crystal, case is showing light normal wear with the various engravings showing very little smoothing and a few small spots of brass starting to show on the frame & bow, the interior of the covers do have a few small spots of discoloration, possibly from inappropriately applied gold tests, measures approx. 50mm in diameter x 70mm in length x 13mm thick. A very eye-catching and artistically cased vintage Waltham from the early 1900s in excellent+ overall condition!
