Description:
Bulova 17J grade 9AT wrist watch #332661, vintage mechanical manual-wind nickel bridge-style movement, single sunk (SS) silver-toned metal dial with fancy black-outlined Arabic-style numbers with luminous filling, a fancy black imitation double sunk accent border and a subsidiary seconds register, dial has a number of light brush marks across the surface with no serious defects but it looks as if it was an aggressive cleaning that left some streaks along with fading out the luminosity on the paint fill in the numbers, blue steel skeletonized hands with luminous inserts, hands have a bit of patina and a few of the small panels of luminous material are missing.
Impressive rectangular white gold filled (WGF) & enamel "The Curtis" model Bulova case with smooth polish frame and back accented with a line of laurel-design engraving along the sides, front bezel is fully engraved with a deep laurel-design that is broken up by sections of engraved floral designs accented with black enamel, short heavy extended lugs, removable anti-magnetic base metal movement cradle with a yellowed plastic movement dust cover, likely the original to the watch, case is showing light even wear overall with some moderate wear and discoloration on the base metal movement cradle and a few small spots of brass starting to show on the bezel, measures approx. 24mm wide x 36mm lug to lug x 10mm thick (crystal included), lightly padded black leather strap.
This watch also comes with a blue leatherette box with a dark blue velvet and fabric interior, box is good overall condition however some of the velvet on the interior is pulling away from the fitted bracelet ring. A very high quality and distinctive vintage Bulova wrist watch from the 1920s in excellent condition overall!
