Description:
Zodiac 17J Autographic grade 1424 wind indicator wrist watch, case #414113, vintage mechanical manual-wind nickel split plate movement with bold red ruby jewels, black metal dial with raised gold fancy Arabic-style numbers and chevron markers with luminous inserts, gold hash mark minute markers and a gold marked wind indicator in an arc under the center post has some small specks of discoloration across the dial, some flaking of the black at the edge and a few of the luminous inserts have patina and no longer retain their luminous properties, fancy skeletonized gold steel wedge-style hands, a gold sweep second hand and a short gold steel indicator hand with a triangular tip.
Rose gold filled (RGF) & stainless steel (SS) round water-resistant smooth polish case with a sloping bezel supporting a domed glass crystal and elegant tapering extended lugs, case is showing normal even wear overall with a number of small scratches and some brass showing on the lugs, frame and crown, additionally the auto-winding rotor is not properly applying power to the train, it appears it may be catching on the back cover when the watch is closed up as it swings freely when the back is removed, the watch can be wound manually as expected and we are selling the watch as a manual wind to reflect this issue, measures approx. 32mm in diameter x 41mm lug to lug x 11mm thick (crystal included), deeply textured red-brown leather strap band.
