Wittnauer 17J wrist watch, case #2936-11A 6629889, vintage mechanical manual-wind movement, attractive silver-toned metal dial with a sunburst brushed finish and elaborate raised silver markers, some set with small crystals, black marked seconds display at 6 o'clock, dial does have some light scratches, slender gold steel baton-style hands with black enamel finish on the length and pointed end accents, thin-model yellow gold filled (YGF) & stainless steel (SS) square water-resistant case with a subtle cross-hatch design engraving over the top bezel with a slightly raised round smooth polish ring supporting the slightly domed plastic crystal and narrow tapering extended lugs, the movement on this watch lifts from the case once the crystal is removed which creates a water resistant design, case is showing light even wear overall with small spots of brass starting on the frame and lugs however there are numerous small scratches on the back from where attempts were made to open the watch improperly, measures approx. 29mm wide x 36mm lug to lug x 8mm thick (crystal included), new deeply textured dark brown leather strap band. A very distinctive, eye-catching vintage Wittnauer watch from the 1950s in excellent condition overall!
