Waltham 16S 23J lever set (LS) adj. 5p Vanguard pocket watch #20141417, beautiful nickel bridge movement with raised gold jewel settings, a gold center wheel, diamond endstone and an elaborate concentric circle and checkerboard damascene pattern, double sunk (DS) porcelain enamel dial with fancy Arabic-style numbers, red 5 minute markers and a subsidiary seconds register is free of hairlines however there are two small divots on the seconds bit and the lowest segment of the dial is slightly off-white from the outer ring and seconds bit (possibly a factory defect), bold blue steel spade & whip style hands, impressive white gold filled (WGF) Keystone screw back & bezel (SB&B) smooth polish case with crisp coin edge engraving on both bezels, a short heavy pendant with a recessed crown, a large heavy bow and a thick glass crystal, the case is showing only very light even wear with normal light scuffing associated with careful use with no brass however there are a few small pinpoint sized scratches on the pendant and on the edge of the crystal; we can replace the crystal with a new plastic one at no charge on request, measures approx. 51mm in diameter x 65mm in length x 14mm thick (crystal included). A high grade Waltham railroad grade watch from the early 1900s, perfect to both carry or collect, in excellent+ overall condition!
