Hampden 18S 17J hunting case movement (HCM) lever set (LS) adj Special pocket watch #756110, handsome full plate nickel movement with screw-down jewel settings, a Teske-style regulator and an elaborate concentric circle damascene pattern, double sunk (DS) porcelain enamel dial with fancy Arabic style numbers, red 5 minute markers and a subsidiary seconds register has some short faint hairlines near 5 o'clock, fancy blue steel open morning glory style hands, re-cased into a heavy yellow gold filled (YGF) smooth polish screw back & bezel (SB&B) case with an oversized heavy bow, glass crystal and a star-shaped monogram shield on the back with a letter of "TEXAS" at each point, initials in the star "JWC", case has some brass starting to show on the frame and bezels, and there is a small scratch on the crystal, we can replace the glass crystal with a new beveled plastic crystal at no charge on request, measures approx. 55mm in diameter x 81mm long x 17mm thick (crystal included). An impressive, high quality vintage pocket watch from the 1890s, considered railroad grade at the time of production, in excellent condition!
