Elgin 16S 15J grade 313 pocket watch #30300384, handsome nickel silver-flashed split plate movement with screw-down jewel settings and a fancy concentric circle damascene pattern, single sunk (SS) silver-toned metal dial with black art-deco style Arabic numbers, black minute hash marks, a black-marked subsidiary seconds register and a fancy engraved design, the outer bright silver areas have a circular brushed finish while the center has been engraved with floral & geometric designs with the designs having a bright finish and the filler space having a tight cross-hatch engraving that gives the section a 2-tone double sunk effect, dial does have some light scratches and small spots of discoloration, heavy blue steel triangle style hands.
Re-cased into an attractive yellow gold filled (YGF) screw back & bezel (SB&B) case with an elaborately engraved design of a bird sitting on a branch that curves out of an art nouveau grouping of floral & swirl elements on the lower-right half of the back case, engine turned engraving on the front bezel, long sculpted pendant, a heavy bow and a thick glass crystal, case is showing normal moderate wear with notable smoothing to the engraving in places and some small spots of brass on the bezels & pendant, additionally it appears the bow is a replacement to the case with a slightly different gold tone, measures approx. 50mm in diameter x 69mm in length x 13mm thick (crystal included). An attractive vintage Elgin from the 1920s in excellent overall condition!
