Longines 45mm 16J lever set (LS) cal #L20B pocket watch, case #250243, impressive gilt bridge-style transitional movement with a right angle pin lever escapement, fancy plate & bridge layouts, a raised winding barrel bridge, an engraved balance bridge and a brushed finish, movement has been hand marked with the number "734", movement also has key wind posts on both the winding barrel and top of the center wheel and can be wound and set with a key if preferred although the case does have the watch currently set up to be pendant wound/lever set, unmarked single sunk (SS) porcelain enamel dial with Roman numerals and a black-marked subsidiary seconds register has some faint hairlines, blue steel spade style hands.
Handsome Longines silver plated fully engraved hunting case (HC) with both sides engraved with large floral designs around the edge and a wide ribbon-outlined monogram shield in the center, the shield on one side has been filled with the engraving of a man holding a hunting rifle with a dog running at his feet while the reverse has been engraved with a sailboat on a lake with a towered building on the shore, stepped bezels, smooth polish frame with slightly recessed hinges and a large bow, case is showing moderate wear with notable smoothing to the engraving in places, some small shallow dents on the bezels and some small patches of discoloration on the covers, crown & bow, additionally the front cover does open & secure correctly however it is a bit loose on the hinge and opens up well past 90 degrees from the frame, measures approx. 49mm in diameter x 72mm in length x 16mm thick. A very early and high quality vintage Longines from the 1880s in very good overall condition!
