11.5" 14k & California quartz fancy articulated mixed link Albert-style pocket watch chain with a California quartz nugget fob, 5 long rectangular smooth polish 14k gold (tested) links, inset on both sides with a fitted piece of California quartz in tones of off-white, grey and tan with flecks and streaks of gold, have gently rounded sides and are finished on each end with a round hinged loop, quartz links are connected together with wide smooth polish 14k gold (tested) bands to create the primary length of the chain, one end of the primary length is finished with a short section of 14k gold (tested) oval link chain that ends with a screw-down 14k gold (marked & tested) swivel, other end of the primary length is attached to the 14k gold (tested) center connector ring, 2 matching lengths of 14k gold (tested) oval link chain also connect to the center ring, one finished with a 14k gold (tested) t-bar with a smooth polish finish, tapered ends and inset on the front with 2 narrow panels of California quartz that matches the color of the chain links, other drop chain is finished with a small 14k gold (marked & tested) spring ring that in turn connects to a California quartz nugget fob.

A California quartz nugget, with stone colors of off-white, tan, grey and medium brown, has small veins of gold attached to and thru the nugget, a fancy cut-out filigree yellow gold filled (YGF) cap has been affixed to the nugget to transform it into a watch chain fob, our testing to karat content was inconclusive due to the proximity of the stone, however we were able to get solid readings of 22-24k in a few spots, due to the nature of natural gold, karat tests will vary based on the location.

Chain is showing normal moderate wear overall, with no heavy scratches but with visible thinning to some of the links, additionally 1 panel of the quartz on the chain has been replaced with a piece of agate in shades of red, gold & brown, measures approx. 290mm in length, weighs approx. 15.8dwt. Fob is showing nominal wear, measures approx. 28mm wide x 15mm tall x 9mm thick, weighs approx. 6.9dwt. While this is not the most pristine example of a California quartz watch chain we've seen, it may be the most distinctive with the sleek links and articulated (hinged) detailing, still a beautiful and high quality vintage chain and fob set in very good condition!
