13.5" double strand remembrance hair straight-style pocket watch chain with yellow gold filled (YGF) finishes, a spring ring finding and a copper-toned hazelnut fob, two strands of dark brown hair have been carefully braided in two different styles and then twisted together to form the entire lengths of each chain and then the pair is capped on both ends by fancy YGF finials with geometric engraving, center of the chain has a rectangular YGF center detail with raised engraved ends and a smooth polish center and lower connector loop, loop currently supports an interesting copper-colored fob in the shape of a hazelnut with delicate engraving at the top and bottom that has been finished with light enamel to emulate the iconic nut, fob may be copper filled or a higher copper content however we are selling as a copper plated finish, off both ends of the chain are short sections of YGF curb link chain with flat profiles, one side is finished with a large YGF spring ring while the opposite end is finished with a large YGF classic swivel clasp.
Chain findings, hair and fob are all showing normal even wear overall however there are notable spots of brass on the YGF components, additionally it appears some work has been done to the chain and finial near the spring ring as there is a bit of adhesive showing on the hair near that finial along with the finial itself being securely closed but not aligned correctly, chain measures approx. 347mm in length, hair lengths measure approx. 3mm in diameter each, fob measures approx. 19mm wide x 25mm tall x 11mm thick. A handsome chain and fob set, an unusual find with the double strands of braided hair, from the 1800s in very good overall condition!
