17" yellow base metal (YBM) heavy-weight flat profile snake link straight style pocket watch chain with a large spring ring with chain guard, heavy weight oval links with a beveled profile are engraved down the center with geometric patterns and fit tightly with the adjacent links to form a sinuous length of chain, finished on both ends with large round links and also a heavy oval link with worn markings, likely for the maker, one end of the chain is finished with a large YBM swivel-style clasp and the opposite end is finished with a large YBM spring ring with a chain guard and swivel center detail, chain links and findings are showing even moderate wear with small lines of discoloration along the side of the links, between links where they rub against each other and on both findings, it should be noted that the spring ring is marked "14k" but there are obvious signs of wear not found on gold findings that indicate this was done for subterfuge at some point, chain measures approx. 430mm in length, links measure approx. 4x7mm. An interesting and very attractive vintage chain with many high quality features you don't often find on a base metal chain in excellent overall condition!
