Description:
Attractive 14k, enamel, yellow gold filled (YGF) & gemstone Risdon round pocket watch chain fob on a yellow base metal (YBM) key chain, handsome YGF round fob base with an elegant cross-hatch brushed finish and a raised laurel engraved edge with a sturdy top connector loop, center of the fob is a raised 14k (tested) freeform shaped shield finished with white enamel and supporting a raised gold "Risdon" over three small gemstones, "Risdon" is possibly for the Risdon Manufacturing Company, gemstones are likely two light blue sapphires flanking a crystal clear cubic zirconia, connector ring attaching the fob to the key chain is marked for YGF, YBM split-ring key chain with a smooth polish finish, fob and keychain are showing hardly any wear and were likely carried infrequently, fob measures approx. 25mm in diameter x 32mm tall x 3mm thick, keychain measures approx. 38mm in diameter. This fob also comes with a mottled brown leatherette box with a cream colored satin and dark brown velvet interior. We have left the fob attached to the keychain as it is simple to remove without tools and this was how we acquired the fob; it is likely that the fob was added to the keychain at the time of distribution to make it useable to a wider group as watch chains fell out of favor. An amazing promotional or commemorative vintage chain fob from the mid-1900s in near mint condition!
This is a companion piece to our Gisen & Forsthoff 14k, enamel, YGF & gemstone Risdon pocket knife, file & scissors watch chain fob (PMF174).
