NY Standard 6S 7J lever set (LS) grade 44 ladies' pocket watch #511191, handsome nickel split plate movement with a fancy plate layout and an attractive checkerboard surrounded by a concentric wavy line damascene pattern, mint single sunk (SS) porcelain enamel dial with roman numerals and a subsidiary seconds register has been finished with a beautiful hand painted scene of blue, pink and purple flowers with yellow centers and green foliage against a multi-hued yellow, blue and pink background, while the dial itself is free from hairlines or damage the hand painting has flaked off in some places, blue steel morning glory style hands.
Attractive fully engraved yellow gold filled (YGF) hunting case (HC) with both sides engraved with the scene of a fence and arbor accented with a spread-wing songbird and large floral, geometric and vermicelli designs, on one side the opening of the arbor acts as a large blank monogram shield while the reverse has a mountain lake scene, vermicelli engraved frame and a heavy bow, case is showing normal even wear overall but does have some small spots of brass starting to show on the outer covers and on the interior front bezel that supports the crystal, and the covers have been expertly repaired at the hinges, with both sitting flush to the frame and closing tight as expected, however there are solder marks on the interior of both cover by the hinge, measures approx. 41mm in diameter x 60mm in length x 13mm thick. An attractive and unique vintage watch from the 1890s in excellent condition, still quite a beautiful piece despite the signs of age!
