Bernard Schaffel 27mm 1J Webster grade SZL ladies' pocket watch, handsome nickel split plate movement with a brushed finish and a raised pallet bridge, mint off-white fancy enamel dial with slightly raised art-deco style Arabic numbers and line markers, gold steel wedge style hands, fancy yellow base metal (YBM) friction fit Bernard Schaffel case with with a stylized cloverleaf engraving on the back surrounded by swirl accents and a scalloped engraved border, smooth polish tapered bezels and a fancy rigid bow.

The front of the case is also finished with a raised, acrylic-topped bezel ring that has clear bubble-glass like round markers set within the YBM ring with a cross-hatch engraving, through this ring is then visible a floating textured silver ring that turns with each second and, when passing under the bubble-glass, creates the visual effect of sparkles or starbursts, case is showing moderate wear with a few small scratches, small patches of scuffing and some discoloration in places from wear, most notably on the bow which is now mostly a silver color, measures approx. 34mm in diameter x 41mm in length x 12mm thick (crystal included). A fun and attractive watch from the 1960s, reminiscent in use to the Borel cocktail watches that offer an optical illusion when the watch is in motion, in excellent overall condition!
