Mt. Vernon 21J adj. wrist watch, vintage mechanical manual-wind nickel split plate movement with bold red ruby jewels and an unusual recessed plate finish about the drive train, silver-toned metal dial with a matte finish, raised fancy Arabic style numbers, raised gold outer accent border and black minute markers is marked "Mt. Vernon" on the upper half of the dial, dial has some spots of patina and a few short, light scratches, fancy gold steel whip-style hands, heavy yellow gold filled (YGF) & stainless steel (SS) long curved rectangular case with a sloped & stepped bezel supporting a glass crystal, side frames engraved with geometric accents and classic narrow extended lugs with a curved end accent, in profile the case has a slight curve along the back to allow for a more comfortable fit on the wearer's wrist, case is showing normal even wear overall with some small spots of brass starting to show on the lugs, measures approx. 21mm wide x 41mm lug to lug x 10mm thick (crystal included), lightly textured padded brown leather strap band. The Mt. Vernon brand was produced by multiple companies, such as Hamilton and Rockford; we were unable to locate a match to this movement configuration so can not give specifics on which original manufacturer this one was produced by. A very high quality, attractive vintage watch from the early to mid-1900s in excellent condition!
