Croton 17J automatic (self-winding) grade A3SY Aquamatic wrist watch #800, case #AQY30749, champagne-toned metal dial with a brushed finish, fancy raised gold Arabic numbers and a black marked 5 minute outer register, some of the black markings are worn however the dial is otherwise free from scratches or damage, fancy gold steel wedge-style hands and a gold sweep second hand, heavy round yellow gold filled (YGF) Aquamatic model water-resistant case with a tapered bezel supporting a flat-top domed glass crystal, slightly raised curved extended lugs with a stepped detail and a screw-down back cover, from the grade name we presume this watch was sold as having a high water resistance however we have not tested for this and suggest you treat this watch as with other vintage watches and limit submersion in water before having your local jeweler verify a strong seal, case is showing very light even wear overall with a few small spots of brass starting to show on the lug ends and on the frame near the crown, there are also a few small factory defect bubbles in the crystal, measures approx. 32mm in diameter x 40mm lug to lug x 11mm thick (crystal included), heavily padded dark brown leather strap band with decorative half-circle reinforcement accents at the lugs and dark brown stitching. A very high grade and attractive mechanical movement watch from the 1950s in excellent+ overall condition!
