Vidar 17J automatic (self-winding) wrist watch, case #14217, single sunk (SS) 2-tone black and tan metal dial with a matte black outer ring under the Arabic-style luminous numbers and white minute markers, a white imitation double sunk line separates the black section from the interior polished finish tan center, black subsidiary seconds register with white markings, dial has some light discoloration and it appears the luminosity is gone from the paint of the numbers, dark grey steel skeletonized whip-style hands with luminous inserts, heavy chrome white base metal (WBM) & stainless steel (SS) round water-resistant case with a slightly raised narrow bezel supporting a high domed thick glass crystal and slender extended lugs, case is showing moderate to heavy wear with multiple small spots of brass showing on the frame and back of the lugs, measures approx. 30mm in diameter x 37mm lug to lug x 12mm thick (crystal included), distinctive WBM & SS mixed-style expansion band with heavy curved WBM solid band segments on each side of the watch finished with matte raised sections and recessed polished accents which are then connected to finish the band by a length of matching expansion band. An eye catching & high quality vintage watch from the 1950s, showing its wear but running strong, in very good overall condition!
