Description:
Sovereign 1J wrist watch, vintage mechanical manual-wind movement, gold-toned metal dial with a sunburst brushed finish, raised gold art-deco style Arabic numbers & pyramid-shaped markers and luminous dot 5 minute markers has a few small specks of discoloration, faceted gold steel wedge style hands with luminous inserts and a gold sweep second hand, all the luminous components do appear to be retaining their light emitting properties, elegant smooth polish gold-plated aluminum water resistant round case with a narrow tapered bezel supporting a slightly domed plastic crystal, stepped detail on the back bezel and slender tapered extended lugs, the aluminum case is very light weight and not as durable as a brass or nickel based case, however it does have a high resistance to being magnetized and if you are in proximity to low to moderate-power magnets this watch may offer better protection to the movement than the traditional case metals, case is showing normal even wear overall with a number of small, shallow nicks and scratches across the case along with a few thin lines of discoloration on the lug edges, measures approx. 35mm diameter x 40mm lug to lug x 9mm thick (crystal included), new old stock (NOS) dark brown padded, highly textured leather strap band. A classic design watch from the 1960s with some desirable traits for those people exposed frequently to magnets in excellent overall condition!
