Wittnauer 17J automatic (self-winding) wrist watch with date, champagne-toned metal dial with a brushed sunburst finish, raised fancy silver markers, luminous markers at 12, 3, 6 & 9 o'clock and a silver-bordered date aperture at 3 o'clock, dial has a few small spots of discoloration and the luminous paint on the markers is no longer emitting light, date display has black Arabic numbers on a white background, silver steel baton-style hands with pointed tips and luminous inlay and a silver sweep second hand, luminous material on the hands is also no longer functioning, heavy white base metal (WBM) & stainless steel (SS) round water-resistant case with a narrow bezel supporting a slightly domed plastic crystal and heavy extended lugs that extend smoothly from the frame of the case, case is showing normal wear with a few small notable scratches, measures approx. 34mm in diameter x 39mm lug to lug x 10mm thick (crystal included), new brown full strap leather band with tan stitching and a light texture, total wearable length is approx. 160-200mm. A high quality vintage mechanical movement watch from the 1950s in excellent overall condition!
