Elgin 21J Lord Elgin grade 538 wrist watch #X42476, case #565795, vintage mechanical manual-wind split plate nickel movement with bold red ruby jewels and a stainless steel friction fit movement cover that only allows access to the regulator lever unless it is removed, copper (rose)-toned metal dial with a vertical line brushed finish, slightly raised dark gold Roman numerals & markers and a black-marked subsidiary seconds register has a few small spots of discoloration and some signs of patina around the edges, slender blue steel baton-style hands.
Impressive rose gold filled (RGF) smooth polish rectangular case with a narrow bezel supporting a domed glass crystal and ribbed top & bottom case details that connect the frame of the watch to the open-design hinged extended lugs, case is showing normal even wear with some light scuffing along with some smoothing and small spots of brass starting on the back of the "ribbed" details, measures approx. 20mm wide x 48mm in length x 9mm thick (crystal included); new dark brown, highly textured leather strap band with a warm-toned yellow gold filled (YGF) buckle. A very high quality and distinctive vintage Elgin from the 1930s in excellent overall condition!
