Lorus for Walt Disney Company quartz "Goofy" wrist watch, case #V516-6A00 A1, silver-toned metal dial with fancy black Arabic-style numbers that have been printed in "reverse" counter-clockwise around the dial, a sunburst brushed finish and a center multi-colored design of the Disney character Goofy, dial has a few small specs of discoloration, fancy steel hands in the shape of Goofy's arms in red and white steel with a black sweep second hand, in addition to the numbers printed in reverse, the hands also move counter-clockwise around the dial, white base metal (WBM) & stainless steel (SS) cushion-shaped water-resistant case with a smooth polish finish, rounded sloped bezel, slightly domed plastic crystal and classic extended lugs, case is showing light even wear overall with a light scratch across the back and some small spots of discoloration on the lugs, measures approx. 31mm wide x 37mm lug to lug x 7mm thick (crystal included), new padded black leather band. A fun Goofy watch that will make you double take the first time as you learn how to tell time "backwards", in excellent condition!

Quartz watches have been commonly found from the 1970's to today; they are excellent timekeepers and easy to maintain, but do not contain the mechanical (winding or self-winding) movements that most of our antique watches possess. This specific watch has been assessed for running and setting condition and is properly working as expected. With this type of movement, you can expect the watch to keep at minimum +/- 1 minute per week accuracy, with many quartz-movement watches keeping accuracy levels of +/- 1 minute per month or better.
Prior to shipping, all quartz watches purchased from PM Time Service will have a new battery installed for you at no additional charge. Please anticipate an additional 1-2 day delay in processing your order for us to complete the battery update. While each watch will draw power of its battery differently, it is reasonable to expect that a fresh battery will last at least 1 year. When it is time for a new battery to be installed, you can either
contact us for a quote on our current battery and return shipping charge, or most local jewelers will be able to assist you.
This watch comes complete with an appropriate, intact plastic crystal; however, on request PM Time Service can replace the current crystal on this wrist watch for you. We offer new plastic crystals for most vintage wrist watches; you can select your desired choice from the dropdown menu below.
Please note that the average turnaround time for wrist watch crystal replacements will be two days from the placement of the order; however, we do not carry every model of crystal in stock and there may be a delay of up to seven business days as we order the correct item from our supplier.

At PM Time Service, we refer to a "character watch" as any watch that has a dial, and possible other components, that have a cartoon character, public figure or a fictional character printed on them. There were many companies, such as US Time, Ingersoll and Timex, that were commissioned by the character-owner (such as Disney for example) to produce watches with these images, and in most cases, the characters watches were completed at the factory and not as an after-market addition. While most of the PM Time Service character watches are vintage, this type of watch is still in production today, albeit with updated
quartz movements.
Character watches were primarily targeted towards children and as such, a large number of the watches produced were of lower quality or "
dollar watches" and were also considered ladies' or mid-sized. While the original focus group for sales may have been targeted at children and young adults, we do see many purchases today by adults for their own use. contact us with your desired length and we'll get you a quote on a replacement band. In most cases, you can also take the wrist watches to your local jeweler to fit you a new band as well.
