Quality pocket watch chain, offered in a variety of materials, link types, styles, and findings.  All feature high quality materials we're proud to carry due to their overall appearance and durability.  Our chains are assembled in the USA, at the PM Time Service office in Denver, Colorado, to your chosen specifications, ensuring you will receive a high quality pocket watch accessory you will not find anywhere else.

We are happy to offer this item in a multitude of configurations, all selectable from the dropdown choices above; your final price will update when you select your desired options.

The noted length of our pocket watch chains is the approximate length with no primary finding; the different findings we offer will increase the length accordingly.  For example, the 8" straight-style chain with the sphere-detail t-bar finding will be a finished 8.3" due to the 0.3" (8mm) length added by the t-bar.  We have provided the length each finding will add below in the "Primary finding types" section.  If you need a specific finished length of chain, we do assemble each chain to order and can accommodate any request; drop us an email with your specifications.

Please note: all of our "vest" photos above are shown using a spring ring style finding.  Please see the second photo for your selected combination of options to confirm the specific finding type that will be placed with this product order.
Click on any of the following options below for a detailed description of that variation.

Chain materials (all feature a thin sealant to prevent tarnishing):
  • Sterling silver plate

  • 24k yellow gold plate
  • 24k solid gold plating on a solid brass base, very close to a gold filled quality

  • Hematite plate
  • Hematite black (black with a lustrous tone) plating on a solid brass base

  • Classic-style links

      • Heavy-weight chains: 7mm links

Chain styles:
  • Straight style chains
  • Created from a single, continuous length of your chosen chain-link style, these chains feature a single heavy swivel with secure interior latch to secure to the bow of your watch; chain is ready to wear or can be embellished by adding a decorative fob along the length.  Straight-style chains may also be referred to as "opera" or "sports" styles.

  • Albert style chains
  • Created from three lengths (one long and two short segments) of your chosen chain-link style which are then attached to each other via either a center connector ring or a cloverleaf-style connector.  These chains will be finished on the end of the long section with a single heavy swivel with a secure interior latch to secure to the bow of your watch.  1.5" drop chain (on the 8" and 12" versions) or 2" drop chain (on the 16" version) is ideal for embellishing with a decorative fob and is finished with a small spring ring to facilitate easy addition and removal of fobs.

  • Double Albert style chains
  • Created from four lengths (two long and two short segments) of your chosen chain-link style which are then attached to each other via either a center connector ring or a cloverleaf-style connector.  These chains will be finished on the end of both the long sections with a single heavy swivel with secure interior latch; typically one will be used to secure to the bow of your watch while the other can support a heavier item such as a pocket watch knife, small compass or other similar implements.  One of the 1.5" drop chains is used to connect the chain to your person, while the other is ideal for embellishing with a decorative fob and is finished with a small spring ring to facilitate easy addition and removal of fobs.

Primary finding types:
  • Large spring ring
  • 18mm in outer diameter spring ring with a smooth polish finish, spring loaded closure and sturdy connector loop, sized to clip onto belt loops, heavy-material button holes or to wind around a belt and clasp onto the chain forming a secure loop.  This finding adds 0.9" (24mm) to the specified length of the chain.

  • Small spring ring
  • 7mm in outer diameter spring ring with a smooth polish finish, spring loaded closure and sturdy connector loop, sized to clip to the thread behind a button or thin-material button holes.  This finding adds 0.39" (10mm) to the specified length of the chain.
NOTE: Due to the weight of our heavy and extra-heavy chains, we do not suggest this finding as a finish for those 2 chain types, as the additional weight of a heavy chain plus a watch may exceed the amount this finding can safely secure to your person.  If you would still like to proceed with the purchase of this finding with a heavy or extra-heavy weight chain, complete your order using the "Large spring ring" primary finding, and during the checkout process, use the "Customer Notes" section to request the change.

  • Swivel clasp
  • 39mm long smooth polish "lobster-claw" style clasp with a heavy latch to open the spring loaded closure and a swivel connector to the large lower ring.  This finding adds 1.5" (39mm) to the specified length of the chain.

  • Open-style belt clip
  • 35mm long heavy open-design rectangular belt-clip style clasp with a smooth polish finish and a sturdy connector loop.  This finding adds 1.4" (35mm) to the specified length of the chain.

  • Solid-style belt clip
  • 35mm long heavy solid-design fancy rectangular belt-clip style clasp with a smooth polish finish, front rectangular design with flared sides has a vertical line engraving pattern around a blank fancy monogram shield with a heavy connector section on the lower edge.  This finding adds 1.4" (35mm) to the specified length of the chain.

  • Cuff-detail t-bar
  • 44mm long solid bar with a smooth polish finish with a slightly raised triple-band center cuff detail that extends to the sturdy connector loop.  This finding adds 0.3" (8mm) to the specified length of the chain.

  • Sphere-detail t-bar
  • 43mm long solid bar with a smooth polish finish along the length with a lightly textured raised sphere-design center detail that extends to the sturdy connector loop.  This finding adds 0.3" (8mm) to the specified length of the chain.

Secondary finding types (for Albert chains):
  • Center ring connector
  • Simple plated ring finding used to connect all three "arms" of the Albert-style chain.  Very light-weight chains use a small ring (8mm in diameter), light-weight and medium-weight chains use a medium ring (10mm in diameter), while heavy-weight and extra-heavy-weight chains use a larger ring (14mm in diameter).

  • 3-loop cloverleaf connector
  • Plated metal finding featuring a spherical center surrounded by three rings in a "cloverleaf" arrangement, with each ring serving as the attachment point for a different "arm" of the Albert-style chain.  Very-light-weight, light-weight and medium-weight chains use a small cloverleaf connector (10mm in diameter), while heavy-weight and extra-heavy-weight chains use a larger cloverleaf connector (16mm in diameter).

Secondary finding types (for Double Albert chains):
  • Center ring connector
  • Simple plated ring finding used to connect all three "arms" of the Albert-style chain.  Very light-weight chains use a small ring (8mm in diameter), light-weight and medium-weight chains use a medium ring (10mm in diameter), while heavy-weight and extra-heavy-weight chains use a larger ring (14mm in diameter).

  • 4-loop cloverleaf connector
  • Plated metal finding featuring a spherical center surrounded by four rings in a "cloverleaf" arrangement, with each ring serving as the attachment point for a different "arm" of the Double Albert-style chain.  Very-light-weight, light-weight and medium-weight chains use a small cloverleaf connector (10mm in diameter), while heavy-weight and extra-heavy-weight chains use a larger cloverleaf connector (16mm in diameter).

For historical information, photo examples, and suggested wearing styles for our pocket watch chains, please visit our "How To Wear" Guide.
Our example photos show our items against a backdrop created from a men's medium-sized vest. Depending on the style you are looking to create with your chain, we offer that for someone with a slender build or short to average height, you can expect the shown item to hang off your person similar to the photo. If you have a larger build or are taller than average, please note the chain will hang differently off your person than shown.

As a rule of thumb, on an average-build male, we suggest straight or Albert style chains 10" or shorter for heights under 5'8", 10" to 14" for heights 5'8" to 6'2" and 14" or longer for heights over 6'2". For Double Albert chain styles, we suggest 20" or shorter for heights under 5'8", 18" to 30" for heights 5'8" to 6'2" and 24" or longer for heights over 6'2".
